What is my little girl made of? I love her sweet and so very affectionate nature. She will follow me through the house, because she says she wants to be close to me. She’s always ready for a huggle and a kiss. I love hearing her feet racing to jump into bed next to me in the morning. And the “I love you, Mummy” that comes at the most unexpected moments, and means everything. She is gentle, and kind, and sensitive. And yet, full of the most wonderful determination! She hoola-hooped for days and days until she mastered the skill. She has spent the last month with her skipping rope, getting faster and stronger and better each week. She will sit for hours with her puzzles until they are solved, and stands proudly over her work. Cartwheels and handstands are a daily ritual of practice, no matter how many times she falls. I love that she counts herself in to dance at home with a “5, 6, 7, 8” before bounding out from behind the ‘curtain’ to perform for me, doing her very best steps with careful grace.
Because of her I try harder, to be better, to keep going, to be grateful for every minute of our beautiful little life.
Sugar and spice and all things nice. And my favourite thing of all.
