A better view

Sophia and I were out on the balcony today, looking down the street to the city, watching people and cars go by…  it must be very fascinating for a two year old to watch the world from up above, like a bird.  She had to test the distance from herself to the ground by dropping toys for me to run and fetch back for her, so excited when they returned, only to race outside and throw them off once more with an “Uh Oh!” for effect.  Too cute not to love, just the same.  I can understand her pleasure in it all, as there’s nothing like feeling you are on top of the world, even your own little one!  M x

    Dear Mel

I love your blog. The photos of Sophia are just beautiful. I am very impressed by your photography skills. Of course, when the subject is as gorgeous as Sophia you cannot take a bad photo!

I enjoyed reading about your goals and objectives for this blog and the title “Pieces of dreaming” is very apt and inspiring. It reminds me of the importance to take time in the busy and hectic pace of modern day life to really sit back, reflect and dream and ponder about the wonderment of the world around us. Children do this so well and remind us about the importance of doing this as illustrated by your ancedote about Sophia standing on the balony and experiencing great joy in discovering the effects of gravity.

I look forward to following your blog.

On another note I really enjoyed Sophia’s 2nd birthday. It was a lovely day and as always you and Andrew are extremely hospitable and you organised it so well.

    Your friend
